Introduction
CPR Prompt Manikins are specifically
designed for CPR and AED training. They feature the anatomical features
desirable for proper instruction as identified by the American Heart
Association. They provide professional level quality at an affordable
price, and allow instructors to deliver hands-on, one-to-one training
in CPR, AED use, and the Heimlich maneuver, thus increasing the retention
of lifesaving skills.

Product
Overview and Description
Studies have shown that by
reviewing and practicing lifesaving skills, such as CPR and choking
first aid, rescuers are better prepared to assist victims in an emergency.
The CPR Prompt Manikins meet the American Heart Association's criteria
for desirable manikin features. These manikins provide built-in feedback
by deploying such features as realistic head tilt, visible chest rise
and audible chest compression clicks. These elements help trained rescuers
to correctly perform CPR. To help instructors provide accurate training
on AEDs and the Heimlich maneuver, the comprehensive design features
anatomical landmarks (Adam's Apple, carotid arteries, xiphoid process/chest
notch, rib cage, navel, nipples) thus enabling proper hand placement
and pulse check. All manikins are lightweight, portable and finished
with a resilient DURACOAT finish for easy cleaning and long life.
The
CPR Prompt Manikin 5-Pack includes 5 Adult/Child manikins, 100 Adult/Child
lung bags, use and care sheet and carrying case. The Adult/Child manikin
has an age selector dial that adjusts the chest compression piston for
learning Adult or Child CPR techniques. The audible chest compression
clicks let the rescuers know when they are pressing in the correct location
to the right depth. When performing CPR, the manikin's lungs inflate
only when the head is properly tilted and air is blown. Only then will
the chest visibly rise.
The manikin
bodies have a DURACOAT smoothskin finish which cleans easily.
The bodies may be cleaned with a bleach/water solution, or wiped with
alcohol or other sterilizing agent. The manikin heads may also be cleaned
in a dishwasher. Neck caps twist off to provide large openings and easy
cleaning.

Frequently
Asked Questions
| Q: |
How
durable are CPR Prompt Professional Manikins? |
| A: |
CPR Prompt Professional
Manikins with the DURACOAT finish are designed to provide
years of service. Complient tests its manikins with a test fixture/device
designed to simulate chest compressions. Based on testing to date,
CPR Prompt manikins can withstand more than 200,000 compressions,
with no sign of wear and tear. CPR Prompt manikins are backed by
a one-year warranty.
|
| Q: |
How
does Complient's one-year warranty compare to other manikin warranties? |
| A: |
The warranty is
comparable to that provided by other manikin manufacturers, including:
Actar, Laerdal and Ambu. In addition, Complient provides reasonably
priced replacement components for all parts, including bodies.
|
| Q: |
What
effect would extremely warm temperatures have on the manikins? Would
coated bodies have a tendency to stick together when they come in
contact, such as in the training packs? |
| A: |
The manikins will
not stick to each other, even when stored in very warm temperatures.
The coating is "block resistant" (i.e. resists adhering
to other coated objects) up to 160 degrees Fahrenheit. Warm temperatures
will not damage the bellows or other manikin parts.
|
| Q: |
What
effect would very cold temperatures have on the manikins? |
| A: |
The manikins are
designed to be used and/or stored in temperatures from 40 to 100
degrees Fahrenheit. If the manikins were exposed to very cold temperatures,
they will not be damaged, however the chest compression piston will
be stiffer until it warms up.
|
| Q: |
Are
CPR Prompt Professional Training Manikins LATEX free? |
| A: |
Yes. CPR Prompt
manikins are 100% latex free.
|
| Q: |
What
face shields / barrier devices work with CPR Prompt manikins? |
| A: |
CPR Prompt manikins
work with a number of well-known barrier devices. Laerdal disposable
face shields, Laerdal pocket mask, CPR Micromask, Ambu Single-Patient
Use Resuscitator (bag/valve mask style).
|
| Q: |
What
is the volume of air in the CPR Prompt manikin head? And lung bag?
How does CPR Prompt compare to other manikins? |
| A: |
Different makes
of manikins have different size lung bags and head designs. According
to the American Heart Association, the important criterion is that
manikins show "realistic chest movement when adequate ventilation
is provided by mouth or nose." The CPR Prompt manikins are
designed to do this.
|
| Q: |
How
do you clean the TPAK bags if they get dirty? |
| A: |
Bags should be
hand-washed in cold water and air-dried.
