HANOVER PARK, Ill. - School Health Corporation presented a donation of $30,000 to the National Association of School Nurses (NASN) Endowment Fund during the annual NASN conference in Cincinnati, Ohio, June 27-30, 2003.

The NASN Endowment Fund was recently established to support research about school nursing and the health of school-age children, provide grants that improve school nursing practice and school - affiliated delivery of healthcare, and offer scholarships for school nurses seeking graduate degrees and/or certification in advanced nursing practices.

"School Health Corporation's contribution will help build a legacy that will serve school nurses for many years to come", said Linda C. Wolfe, president of the NASN. "We hope other organizations and individuals that benefit from the efforts of school nurses will follow School Health's example."

"The mission of the NASN complements our own mission, which is to help school nurses improve the health and well being of the children entrusted in their care," said Susan C. Rogers, president of School Health Corporation. "School Health Corporation continues to support the school nursing profession by educating communities and professionals about various health issues that may affect children and supporting professional organizations for school nurses, such as the NASN."

School Health Corporation has been a long-time supporter of NASN and the school nursing profession. In October 2002, the school nursing profession celebrated its one hundredth
anniversary. To commemorate this milestone, School Health Corporation developed a special edition twelve month calendar to celebrate the significant contributions school nurses have made to both school children and the nursing profession. The calendar features a brief look at the history of school nursing, monthly health observances, and motivating statements meant to rally a sense of pride and inspire school nurses to champion their own cause. Proceeds from the calendar support the NASN Endowment Fund.
