In 2001, we invited nurses from around the country to participate in a panel discussion. Discussions turned to additional products we could offer. Meri Jackson, President-Elect of the California School Nurses Organization, suggested a kit nurses could have on hand in the event of a sudden emergency. The usefulness of Meri's suggestion became all too apparent the next day, September 11, 2001. We have named the kit the "Jackson Emergency Kit" to honor Meri Jackson and healthcare workers all over the country who came together to help those in need after our national tragedy.
