What is VIC?
The Vision Initiative for Children (VIC) teaches, equips, and supports pediatric primary care providers and their staff, school nurses, and Head Start to better screen the vision of children ages 3, 4, and 5 with developmentally appropriate tests and procedures.

Until November 2008, P. Kay Nottingham Camplin, Ed.D. served as the VIC Program Director. She helped the program gain national recognition and spearheaded the training of over 1,600 screeners to date. Her tireless endeavors have led to several special recognitions and publications for the VIC program. Currently the VIC program is seeking funding to continue its mission to promote effective early childhood vision screening.

"VIC LEA Symbol/HOTV Combination Wall Chart - This is an excellent screening tool for my preschool, Kindergarten, and elementary populations. The small cards can be used for identification of the letters/shapes and the charts used for evaluating visual acuity. Younger students had difficulty identifying the heart/apple shape, but the other shapes and letter were easily distinguished."
