Maico ERO-SCAN OAE Test System The Maico ERO-SCAN is ideal for school screenings because it can quickly identify a possible hearing loss and signal a referral for more comprehensive testing.
Currently, otoscopy, pure-tone audiometry and tympanometry are used to accomplish the goals of school hearing screening. However, in trying to identify hearing loss that may influence communication, development, health or academic performance, otoacoustic emissions (OAE) testing offers advantages by showing both cochlear hearing loss and middle ear dysfunction.
Four Frequency Limited tests from 2- 5, specifically at 2, 3, 4, and 5.
Test System Includes:- Probe (handheld)
- Remote Corded Probe
- Instrument Cradle
- Printer, cable, paper, and rechargeable battery pack
- Single-Use Eartip Kit (156 tips: 3 mm-13 mm)
- Replacement Remote Probe Cone Tips (4)
- 4 AA Batteries
- User Manual

| Early Intervention of vision and hearing problems is
important for learning and proper development of speech and
language. The earlier a problem is detected, the more
successful the treatment outcome.
Hearing screening is done through Otoacoustic Emissions
(OAE). The units screen the hair cells in the ear through a
soft tone presented through a probe placed in the ear canal.
A small microphone in the probe measures the echo that is
returned from the ear. The echo is analyzed to determine how
well the inner ear is working providing the tester with a
Pass/Refer result.
Vision screening is done using the SureSight™ to provide
objective screening results in under 30 seconds. The unit
automatically measures and indicates abnormal readings.
The SureSight™ vision screener is a portable, fast and
affordable device that makes testing even your toughest
patients quick and painless. It is the first objective and
accurate vision screener that ensures reliable and early
detection of refractive error, which is the primary vision
disorder in children. |
