Getting Real Program book
Teaches students the practical knowledge in math and language arts they will need to succeed in the real world and increase their sense of pride and self-worth. Includes reproducible testing materials, worksheets, visual aids, and IEP and other evaluation forms. Tasks are split into two sections: Math and Language Arts. A simple four-step process combines academics with life skills in a functional and easy-to-use curriculum. The pretest, instruction and post-test sequence is ideal for IEPs

Math concepts include counting, paying bills, telling time, following a calendar and using a calculator.
Language Arts activities cover writing, functional words and telephone skills.

Getting Real with Reading book
Teaches sight word and survival word recognition. The program is based on 36 weeks in a traditional school year. The book is divided into 6 sections, with each section including Sentences, Worksheets, Word Cards, Survival Word Cards, and Discussion Questions. This structured system stresses repetitive practice, group reading and survival word instruction. Subject matter encourages self-improvement and are designed as discussion topics in areas ranging from social issues, behavior management, and personal growth and development. Students can learn valuable life lessons while reading.
