Faq | HydraTherm Composite Heating Unit FAQs Can competitive moist hot packs be used in the HydraTherm heating unit? Yes. However, Richmar recommends that your customers use the HydraHeat packs as they are more durable and have many other benefits. Will the material from a leaking conventional hot pack damage the drain pump or unit? According to JCAHO and CARF standards the tank will need to be cleaned immediately. The drain pump will continue to function normally as it is a high-grade marine pump.At what temperature should the HydraTherm heating unit be set? The unit is pre-set at the factory to 135° F, however, the unit can be programmed to any temperature between 120° F and 160° F (See Quick Start Guide). When using the HydraHeat packs the temperature can be set as low as 120° F and still administer therapeutic heat due to its anti-bacterial & heat transfer capabilities. When using competitive moist hot packs the temperature of the HydraTherm heating unit should be set at 160° to prevent bacterial growth. What cleaning solution should be used to clean the tub of the HydraTherm heating unit? Use a vinegar/water mixture. Do not use dishwashing detergent, soapy products or gritty cleaning solutions or supplies. How do I evacuate the water from the HydraTherm heating unit?
When using HydraHeat packs in a conventional stainless steel heating unit what should be done to ensure that they perform to their optimum level and maximize the life of the packs?
Should conventional terry covers be used with the HydraHeat packs? No ,conventional hot packs require terry covers because of water absorption & the risk of burn. A standard clinic towel or pillowcase are all that is needed. What are the advantages between the HydraHeat heat pack and current cloth hot packs?
What is the odor coming from the heating unit after replacing our conventional cloth packs with HydraHeat packs? The smell is normal and is due to the antibacterial polymer that the Hydra-Heat packs are made of. The smell will dissipate as the packs are “broken in” and will no longer be noticeable. How do I care for the HydraHeat Pack? Following treatment and prior to replacing heat pack back in to the heating unit spray and wipe heat pack with a non-bleach based cleaning solution. |
