School Nurses are a vital part of the education community who may not always be recognized for their part in keeping students in school, healthy, and learning. With the budget difficulties many schools are facing, many School Nurse positions are cut at a time when students and parents need them most.
With that in mind, we are hosting the “Every Child Deserves a School Nurse” Video Contest.
We are encouraging students, parents, teachers, administrators, principals, and school nurses themselves to show the world in 3 minutes or less why the role of the school nurse is important to keeping children safe and healthy at school.
Not only will your video help educate administrators and policy makers, your video could win your school one of 3 gift cards from School Health!
Prizes
GRAND PRIZE – The Grand Prize will be selected by the School Health panel of judges. We will be looking for a creative and compelling video that stands out from the crowd. The Grand Prize winner will win a $5,000 School Health Gift Card to be given to the school of their choice.
1st Place – First place will be awarded to the video with the most votes. The first place winner will receive a $3,000 School Health Gift Card.
Runner Up – The runner up will be awarded to the video with the 2nd most votes. The runner up will receive a $1,500 School Health Gift Card.
Timeline
Videos must be submitted before 11:59 p.m. PST on May 2, 2014 to be entered in the contest.
- Contest will run February 1 – May 16, 2014
- Entry Phase: February 1 – May 2, 2014
- Vote Phase: May 3 – May 16, 2014
How to Enter
Film and edit your video. Next, upload your video to your own YouTube account (Instagram and Vine videos will also be accepted) and share the URL of the YouTube video with us in the Entry Form along with your contact information and the school you would like to designate to receive the gift card.
How to Vote
Voting will open on May 3, 2014 and end on May 16, 2014. Voters may vote once per video, per Facebook account. We encourage you to spread the word about your video using Social Media!
Ask students, parents, friends, family and colleagues to vote for your video.
