Autism & PDD Picture Stories & Language Activities

Set of 5 programs featuring theme-based stories for Animals, Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. Each program includes eight stories (total of 40 stories in the set). Each lesson follows the same two-day routine and can be used with one student, a small group, or an entire class. Matt and Molly are the main characters of every story, so students begin to consider them good friends as they progress through each lesson. Students learn 60 vocabulary words and concepts for each theme.

Outcomes includes learning to anticipate, predict and follow a story line; develop question answering, vocabulary, and sequencing skills; develop language, literacy, and story comprehension skills.

Each program includes 8 stories (total 40 stories) with:

• Four 8-1/2" x 11", full color sequence pictures for each story (32 total)
• Four large-print sentence strips per story that students match to the correct illustrations (32 per program)
• Six wh- and how word cards, Yes card and No card for question-asking activities
• Teacher manual with complete lesson plans and teaching techniques designed to engage students in learning. The manual includes:
  • ready-to-use lists of yes/no, wh-, and how questions for each story
  • target vocabulary/concept words
  • teaching suggestions
  • a list of easy-to-find props for role-playing each story sequence
