A scientific approach to rehabilitation and conditioning. The Biomechanical Ankle Platform System (BAPS) is a scientifically designed program that produces controlled, calibrated and predictable stress on the lower leg, ankle and foot. The basic component of the Biomechanical Ankle Platform System is a lightweight, durable platform. Permanent indices on the platform assure proper foot placement. One side of the base is designated for the right foot; the reverse side for the left. Any one of five proportionally calibrated hemispherical attachments can be inserted into the platform's axis of rotation, which is located under the intersection of the biomechanical axis of the ankle. Varying the size of the attachments allows precise control over the degree of motion stress. Four 2-1/2 lb. weight plates are included for resistive weight training to strengthen specific muscle groups. Weights can also be used as passive assistance into the range of motion if space is lacking.
