In trauma-related emergencies, the top cause of preventable death is bleeding. Twenty percent of people who have died from traumatic injuries could have survived with proper bleeding control.

The current COVID-19 crisis highlights more reasons that you should be prepared to stop the bleed. Emergency services may be operating with longer delays. Knowing basic skills and being ready to help can prevent unnecessary death from traumatic injuries.
