When to perform control solution testing

• When using the meter for the first time
• When using a new bottle of test strips
• At least once per week to verify the meter and strips are working properly
• When the test strip bottle was left open
• If the meter was dropped
• When you suspect your meter and test strips are not working properly
• When a patient’s test results do not reflect how they feel
• When a patient’s readings appear to be abnormally high or low
• If test strips have been exposed outside the specific storage conditions
