Introduce early math concepts with these tactile sets of number pebbles. These popular pebbles appeal to children's natural instinct to explore, investigate, sort and collect. Use with counters, number lines, and other math manipulatives to take the learning further.
Sets are ideal for number recognition, sorting, matching, number sequencing, and exploring number bonds to 10, and a playful way to introduce children to sums.
Each pebble measures 1-1/2" and is engraved with a numeral and hand painted for maximum durability. Durable, weatherproof pebbles can be used in sand and water play.
A number bond is a useful tool in teaching and understanding numbers and basic arithmetic. Number bonds are also often referred to as 'number pairs'. Number bonds are the relationship between a number and the parts that make it. They are the different pairs of numbers that add up to the same number. For example, if we add together 4 and 5, we get 9. Thus, the pair 4 and 5 are number bonds that make up the number 9.
