School Health Corp. to host National Association of Vision Professionals Conference
July 7, 2023
ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill. – School Health Corporation has been announced as the location of the 2023 National Association of Vision Professionals (NAVP) Conference on July 26-27, 2023.
NAVP provides networking opportunities, professional development, and continuing education to vision professionals, including educators, nurses, eye doctors, and screeners. During this annual conference, participants will have the chance to learn from top leaders and connect with their peers to discuss best practices from all over the country.
“I attended the NAVP meeting in Chicago in 1991. Over the past 30 years, I have travelled across the US to other host locations who participated in this meeting,” said Senior Director of Product and Business Development for School Health, Gina Streepy. “I respect and admire their selfless work and desire to learn from vision leaders across the US, and I am excited to have the meeting back in the Chicagoland area this year.”
This year’s speaker lineup includes professionals from Prevent Blindness, Exercise Connect, the National Center for Children’s Vision and Eye Health, Lions Kidsight USA Foundation, and more. Speakers from these organizations will educate participants on various topics, including color vision screening, myopia, the psychology of vision loss, and how vision risk factors can affect children in school. NAVP conference attendees will also have the opportunity to connect with product vendors and see demonstrations of equipment that can help enhance their vision screening programs.
“The National Association of Vision Professionals is thrilled to gather at School Health for our annual conference,” said NAVP President, Brenda Dunn. “We look forward to learning something from each of the speakers that we may not have had knowledge about previously, or may not have been well versed in. We are excited to take that information back to our programs to help our communities even more than we already do.”
School Health has been involved with NAVP for over 30 years and has also supported various efforts surrounding vision screening and eye health.
“NAVP’s mission to help vision professionals improve in their fields aligns with School Health’s mission to help students perform to the best of their abilities,” said School Health President, Rob Rogers. “We understand the impact that vision can have on a child’s education, and we are excited to help make this event possible for NAVP members so that they may learn from each other and continue to make a difference.”
