Product Description
School Health is pleased to have put together an exclusive Eclipse-themed activity guide featuring 20 activities and objectives for elementary, middle, and high school students. In addition to simple science activities, included are other areas to enhance students’ understanding and awareness of eclipses and the role they have played throughout history. Music, Art, Language Arts, History, Math, Physical Education, and Science provide the backdrop for these activities with at least two for each area. Activities surrounding the actual day of the eclipse for the school and the greater school community along with around 20 website links for your own or your students’ further pursuit of information on eclipses are included.
Friendly reminder: Keep advising students to never look at an annular eclipse without the proper eye protection. Exposing eyes to the sun’s rays can lead to retinal burns – or solar retinopathy – destroying cells in the eyes, and causing loss of vision, distorted vision, or altered color vision. Seek medical help if you notice any symptoms.
