Special Olympics Deluxe Young Athletes Agency Kit

The Young Athletes program is an innovative sports program designed to introduce children with intellectual disabilities into the world of sports. Children, ages two to seven, can play along with their siblings and peers. This program will prove enormously beneficial on multiple levels for kids, including helping children improve physically, cognitively, and socially.

It is designed to address two specific levels of play:

• Level 1 – Includes physical activities focused on developing fundamental motor tracking and eye-hand coordination
• Level 2 – Concentrates on the application and development of these physical activities and skills, consistent with Special Olympics play, through a sports-based activity program

Activities and skills addressed include foundational skills, walking, running, balancing, jumping, trapping, catching, throwing, striking, kicking, and advanced skills.
