Pedal-activated adjustments for tilt-in-space and hi-low functions, ergonomic push handle provides comfortable grips for all heights.
Benefits
Floor to table adjustment allows children to more easily participate in activities, including feeding and play time, and gives them the ability to be on the same height with their peers and communicate face to face.
Tilt-in-space provides stable shifting of the child's body, allows them to maintain eye contact, and provides pressure relief. Redistributing pressure from one area to another (the pelvis to the back) reduces the risk of pressure sores, increases comfort and sitting tolerance. It also benefits children at risk for respiratory or digestive complications.
Forward tilt and height adjustability of the Hi-Low MPS allows positioning the child so they are forward weight bearing, either on the footrest or on the floor. This position helps children develop muscles within their legs while promoting bone growth and blood circulation. With the same type of positioning with feet on the floor, therapists can also work on sit to stand transfers with the child. By giving a forward tilt and elevating the child so that their legs are positioned half-way to a vertical position, a quicker sit to stand transfer can be achieved. As the child becomes proficient, the starting point can be lowered to increase the challenge.

Did You Know
Did You Know | The Benefits of Hi-Low Seating Hi-Low seating systems provide positioning for various activities throughout the day, while in the same seat. The ability to adjust the seat height to the floor allows for multiple activities within one chair. Less transfers in and out of equipment means more activity time for the user, less strain on the body of the care givers. Many Hi-Low Seating Systems offer Tilt-in-Space and or Recline. These two adjustments allow the caregiver to provide temporary pressure relief within the chair. It also allows for different positioning options of the user for various activities: eating, homework, relaxing, etc. With the ability to adjust the height to allow for weight-bearing on the legs increases independence of the user and can also decrease the number of caregivers needed for transferring. Stand-Pivot transfers allows the user to be as independent as possible, giving them a sense of accomplishment. Weight-bearing on the legs also helps with blood circulation, increases bone density, and provides and active stretch to the leg muscles. |
