Colorful mats and word tiles make learning and practicing word families fun. Helps children practice key skills: identify basic patterns and word family endings, read and write word family words, add or substitute individual sounds in simple one-syllable words to make new words, develop automaticity (fluency) with word-family words, distinguish between similarly spelled words by identifying the sound of the letters that differ, and build vocabulary.
