A Comprehensive eCurriculum for Lifelong Health
The Five for Life® Middle School Program is a comprehensive, evidence-based PE curriculum that delivers developmentally appropriate lessons on team building, traditional and non-traditional sports, net games, fitness, health, and nutrition concepts, and much more.
The Five for Life® Middle School Program is aligned to SHAPE America’s NEW National Standards and Grade-Level Outcomes for Physical Education. Students learn how to identify emotions in themselves and others while using healthy coping strategies to deal with difficult situations. Students will acquire the skills to acknowledge and value diversity and understand the similarities and differences among individuals as they learn to work together.
With the Five for Life Program, you can:
- Teach fitness, health, and nutrition concepts that are relevant and appropriate for middle school-aged students.
- Utilize ready-to-use Units, complete with Unit Guidelines, Lessons, and Summative Assessments.
- Provide movement opportunities to students in various sports and activities.
- Easily access all components of the eCurriculum via our user-friendly online platform.
The Five for Life Program includes:
- 27 Units that touch on team building, traditional sports, non-traditional sports, net games, lifetime activities, rhythm, health, outdoor social games, fitness activities, fitness measurements, goal setting, and a grab bag full of warm-up, cool-down, and fun activities.
- The lessons are complete with objectives, needed materials, student explanations, lesson directions, formative assessments, and connection reflection questions.
- An expansive teacher resource section with planning documents, needed resources, a sports education framework, and classroom management documents.
- A multitude of print-on-demand teacher instructional resources such as CopyCat cards, FITT Cone signs, Muscular and Skeletal System cards, Intensity Level cards, Five for Life Station signs, SMART goal placements, Sport Education Model Role cards, and many more.
