Sensory Stones

Tactile stones provide individuals with sensory experiences with multiple surfaces, shapes and patterns. They offer the opportunity to extend understanding of shapes through exploratory play and mark making.

Each stone is cast from a durable mix including real stone and can be used to explore and build comparative and descriptive language across all areas of a setting including sand, water and outdoor.

Sensory Stones aid sensory development by experimenting with the raised and indented shapes and patterns. Set of eight stones includes four raised/bumpy designs (circles, dots, way lines and a grid) and four indented/hollow designs (circles, lines, zigzags, and a spiral). Each stone measures 3”.

Sensory Shapes offer the opportunity to extend understanding of shapes. Vocabulary of shape and comparative language develops as they talk about what they see and feel. Set of 12 stones in two different thickness and sizes for each of six shapes: circle, triangle, square, rectangle, pentagon, and hexagon. Stones measure 2" - 3".

Interlocking Shapes enable individuals to experiment with raised and indented shapes and patterns. Ideal for exploring matching and symmetry, these stones are designed so that each pair interlocks in a different way – from concentric circles that can be continually twisted to shapes that can be interlocked in two, three and four positions. Eight stones in pairs, four raised/bumpy designs (circles, dots, wavy lines and a grid) and four indented/hollow designs (circles, lines, zigzags and a spiral). Each stone measures 3".
