FIVE FOR LIFE® Advanced Program – High School

The FIVE FOR LIFE High School program includes a comprehensive manual – 400+ pages and 14 instructional units – and online access to printable teaching materials. The program guides high school students in planning and decision-making so they can live fit and healthy lifestyles.

Activities designed for high school students give higher level content and allow for periodic self-evaluations that enable students to observe their progress in maintaining or improving the 5 components of fitness. In addition, students utilize behavior logs to research how personal habits affect health, performance, and appearance.

Highlights of the Advanced High School Program include:

• Provides deep alignment between curriculum, instruction and assessment
• Incorporates articulated vocabulary that is tied to content, which reinforces the understanding of the key concepts throughout the program
• Includes measurement tools that allow students to assess their fitness and gauge improvements using periodic self-evaluation including a baseline measurement, goal setting, trials, and post measurement phases
• Establishes a fitness and health profile using fitness performance measurements and behavior inventories to individualize the program so students can track their progress from year-to-year
• Builds an awareness of the lifestyle choices students make regarding nutrition and physical activity

At the conclusion of this program, students have the skills to evaluate their own behaviors and design a personalized fitness plan of action based on applied knowledge and trainings principles to improve or maintain their health and fitness.
